Rachel Scott woke up to beautiful morning sunshine in Littleton, Colorado on Tuesday April 20th, 1999. She hurried as she picked out what she was going to wear that day, which makeup she was to put on, and whether or not to finish the English homework she forgot to do the night before. She packed her school bag, kissed her mother goodbye, and rushed off to school in her car. It was two weeks before Columbine High School was to get out for the year; Rachel?s mind was full of thoughts about summer as she sat in her hot classroom. She thought about the great weather that day, and why they had to be inside, ?I wish I could be out lying in the sun with my friends, laughing, and enjoying myself. Somewhere, anywhere, but here.? The bell rang and the students were filing into their third-period classes. Rachel had study hall and made her way up to the library, hoping to get her English homework finished. She sat down with her books and opened up her assignment. At that same moment, two loud bangs came from outside the school. High-pitched screams echoed as gunshots were heard. Students
