A further movement in the evolution of the events industry is that of fundraising, we are all too familiar with small charity events that take place in our everyday lives, such as prize draws, raffles etc. These have predominately been low key affairs. However in recent times these too have expanded and grown immensely enabling them to take a large segment of the events market. The growth in the fundraising sector began around the mid 80s the most noticeable of these being ?live aid?. Since the inception of live aid and indeed band aid, there has been a continuous flow and growth of this type of fundraising. Charities and fundraisers alike saw a niche in the market and took full advantage of this. They realised that the public were more inclined to give their support and donations to a charity which was championed by big name famous people who were very much in the public eye at the time.
