Human nature is different for everyone. Human nature can be good or it can be very evil. Humans are the most twisted creatures on the planet. In the book East of Eden there are many themes and conflicts that can be discussed. One of the many subjects to be discussed is how Caleb is evil within but deep down does have the love of his father.
In the book East of Eden there is a character named Caleb Trask. Caleb has a father named Adam and a mother who abandoned him and hid brother to go run a whore house in Monterey. Caleb, a man in the bible, is a man who made it to the promise lands. Ironically, in this book, Caleb is the brother who lived, the son who became successful, the guy who got the girl; basically he made it to his promise land.
