1. In the first chapter of The Pearl Kino tells about the music he hears in his head like “The Song of the Family”. In their brush house in a hanging box lies his baby Coyotito and a scorpion slowly moved towards him, while in Kinos head “The Song of Evil” plays loudly. Then the scorpion fell on Coyotito and stung him. Then Kinos wife Juana tried to save him by sucking out the poison. Soon the whole village knew about him being stung. Then when they took the baby to the doctor, he wouldnt treat him because of their race and because he knew they were poor.
