The Professor and the Mad Man written by Simon Winchester, is the story of the making of the Oxford English Dictionary. The story begins when Dr. William Chester minor, an American lunatic man, murdered george Merret aparently with no reason.
Merret was a very Honest man who never met Dr. Minor, he just was at the wrong time inthe wrong place and appeared murdered. Dr. Minor was arrested without any objection, he just told the police that someone was following him, so he killed the poor man.
