Economics Lesson
There is a classroom full of students ready for their first economics class of the semester. The professor offers the students an opportunity to earn free extra credit points, something any student would want. Each student can earn up to 5 extra points. The professor then tells the students to take out a piece of paper. On this piece of paper the students are to write down the number of extra credit points (from 1-5) they would be willing to sacrifice in order for the entire class to get points. Of coarse none of the students would want to give up any extra points. The catch is that for every student to get the points , each student must sacrifice on average 3.5 points.
