Pride Leading To Prejudice
Pride and Prejudice, two words that bring the good as well as the bad to a
personality. With pride comes a sense of exemplary worth, a sense of great accomplishment with
ones self. With prejudice, preconceived ideas and intolerance towards the party in which the
prejudice is upon. In Jane Austen?s Pride and Prejudice, the main character Elizabeth Bennett
Recognize people?s pride but with their pride leads to a prejudice as well, but with this prejudice
leads Elizabeth to become a better person rather than judging people at first glance.
In the beginning of the book the reader is introduced to many a character.
Including Elizabeth?s parents and her four sisters all of whom are being persuaded to marry into a
finicaly stable marriage by their mother. when a Ball is held in the Bennets neighborhood
(Hertforshire county) news of a wealthy single gentleman by the name of Charles Bingley will be
attending the ball. Mrs. Bennets purpose is to take her daughters to the ball and hopefully one of
them will strike the fancy of Mr. Bingley. While at the ball Mr. Bingley is in conversation with a
friend of his by the name of Fitzwilliam Darcy. No person at the Ball
