Everything has its turning point, so what is the world turning point? With the people in Europe, American and Africa, the Columbus’s voyage in 1492 was a huge impaction. We can say that totally changed the lives of people in there. It opened up the world’s trading and also a new door of colonization period. That turned the world’s history to an important part.
Christopher Columbus was known as the person who discovered America and Africa, but that is not really true. On his way toward to Asia, he suddenly found the U.S and he did not even know that land was not in their map. On that land, there were already had people living there when Columbus came and he did not the first person found America either since before him, had some people had made voyages to there. According to John H. Parry, “Columbus did not discover a new world. He established contact between two worlds, both already old.” However, his journey made a big step in exploration’s centuries and American continent’s exploitation.
Connecting the U.S to the world opened a big change, especially in economic. From Columbus discover, he reminded the Europeans about the continent that they had forgotten and created a bridge of economic for Americas connect to Europe, Africa, and Asia. When the gate of trading were opened, there were both good and bad things come also. The Europeans brought animals such as sheep, cows, horses, pigs, etc…to exchange, but that also brought some bad things like diseases to America.
Therefore, the European exploration and colonization was a decisive factor in history because it led to vast aspects that contributed to the advancement and modernization of the world. This is because that if the European exploration did not happen, countries like America would not have been discovered and people would be living in their native cultures and practices since crucial aspects like education and medication would not exist
