Task 1
Computer System
Computer system consist of hardware components that work together to perform a particular task. Computer Systems are used in many different environments. Each with different purpose and aim. Computer systems are used to reduce the workload and do work effectively. There are many different environments where computer systems are used. Computer systems can work by themselves or access other devices that are external or connected with other computer systems. In modern day’s pen and paper is not effective as a computer which can make the work easier and faster reducing the time and workforce compared to pen and paper. With the new technology computer systems are more reliable, can hold huge amount of information, documents and files can be edited, files and documents can be accessed easily.
These are some benefits using computer system
1. Quick and efficient
2. Can store huge amounts of information
3. Can be used to transfer data and information easily
4. Can be used to learn new things
These are some of the main sectors or environments where computer systems are used.
1. Education Sector
2. Medical Sector
3. Business Sector
4. Bank Sector
5. Entertainment

1. Education Sector
Computers can be used to enhanced performance and productivity in learning. Teachers can used internet, video and audio to improve the learning experience of the students. Its easy refer to the Internet rather than searching for information in books.
Improving Student Performance
Students who use computers have been shown to attend school more steadily and perform better than students who do not use computers. Along with getting higher grades on exams, students also stated they felt more involved with their lessons and work if they used a computer. Using computers gets students to become more focused on their work at home, in collaborative projects with other students and on their own.
Efficiency
Computers make the learning process much more simple and efficient, giving student’s access to tools and methods of communication. For example, students can check their grades or lesson plans online, and also communicate directly with their teachers via email or educational platforms such as Blackboard. Students can also send work to their teachers from home or anywhere else, letting them finish work outside the constraints of school hours and teaching them about procrastination and personal responsibility.
Research
Technology has made research far easier than in the past. It’s easy to look up in internet rather than going to the library and referring to books and encyclopedias. Today, many of those same books are available in digital format and can be accessed online. Students can search topics in minutes helping to do research quickly and more efficiently.

2. Medical Sector
These sectors need computer systems to store data, retrieve and maintain records. These tasks may be online appointments, payroll admittance and discharge records. Computer can help to keep track of all the medical history, drug action, sales and purchases, personal information and more. The necessary information will be sent to the press of a button. Storage of medical data on millions of patients is easier with the computer. Data storage on computers is an environmentally friendly way of storing information. Some sites report on people who give blood regularly. Blood of any blood type is in minutes using the Internet

3. Business Sector
Almost every business uses computers to complete daily tasks. From making contact with clients to inputting data for reports, computers allow businesses a more efficient way to manage affairs when compared to traditional paper and manila folders. Businesses use a variety of different types of computers such as desktops, laptops, servers, smartphones and tablets, depending on their needs. With computers, employees are able to work anytime, anywhere.
Marketing
Computers allow businesses to create websites, stunning ads and complete marketing campaigns. Marketing videos can be edited and custom ads created in-house with the use of specialized software. Businesses can completely develop and manage websites with their own servers or connect remotely to a third-party business to upload their latest content such as articles, product images and blog posts.
Storage
Instead of filing cabinets, businesses are able to store millions of files using computers and servers. Data can be stored centrally for easy access from multiple computers or stored locally for individual use. Computerized storage saves space and provides a far more efficient organization strategy. With encryption, passwords and replace keys, data remains secure.
4. Banking Sector
Computers in the banking sector have enhanced customer service and productivity regarding account management, while streamlining back-office activities. The biggest impact is in the area of competition. Small banking institutions can access the same technology as large banking institutions and, therefore, can compete with them more effectively for business.
Electronic Transactions
Banking systems must perform electronic transactions. Direct deposit is an example of an electronic transaction. Computers processing electronic transactions must have hardware and software encryption capabilities to keep data from being compromised during a transmission. After the computer performs electronic transmissions, it transfer the information to the main computer system for processing and updating. Banks have extended electronic transaction capabilities through landline and cell phones, the Internet and ATMs.
Web-based Banking
Web-based banking systems use a dedicated server through a bank network system. An area of the banking system is partitioned for Internet applications. Web-based banking systems by law must include secure servers and authenticated certificates regarding transactions from the Federal Deposit Insurance Company and the Federal Reserve Board. Customers who choose to bank online can access their account through a web interface, which integrates with the main computer. A customer’s credentials — user ID and password — pass through several checkpoints before entering the main system to perform a web-based transaction.
