All day-to-day work with children and young people is affected by national and local policies. Within my work setting the schools Safeguarding Policy has been developed in accordance with the principles established by the Children Acts 1989 and 2004; the Education Act 2002; and in line with government publications the Teachers’ Standards 2012, ‘Working Together to Safeguard Children’ 2015 and ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ September 2016.
All people working in the school must be aware of the child protection procedures at all times, know how to spot the signs of abuse, who to report concerns to, how to maintain a safe school environment and be aware of the health and safety of children
