when we communicate with children, we need to ensure that active listening is a key one to make them comfortable with and to engage them with us. In a school set up, it is mandated that we need to address people by calling their first name or second name. We must ensure how they are comfortable with their name to call upon. In a school register, their name can be different but in daily routines there preferred name could have been different. We must ensure to know this to establish communication with them and this will pay good results on a long run. (1)

Language that we use in the school set up must comply with school policy and also ensure that we need to avoid jargons which cannot be understood by the parents or carers. We must use simple language to ensure our thoughts are communicated clearly and concisely. Tone reflects our moods, hence we need to be very careful in our modulation. It should not send a wrong signal to others or hurt their feelings.(1)
