The world runs because of an infinite number of things. It can be argued however, that without Law, and its enforcers, none of the other things would matter; there would be confusion, commotion and chaos. As said by Aristotle: “Law is reason, free from passion”. Lawyers, to me, are those who uphold the values and dignify . . . and ensuring that the law is enforced. For this reason, I have not only admired those who become lawyers, but see myself dreaming of becoming one.
What is Law to me? Studying Law was not something I had always intended to do. It was not until I found myself enjoying and connecting to the subjects I studied: English, History and Sociology, that I intensively researched the professions they linked into. Discovering they all had a distinctive link to Law, I was curious about the course and after thorough research, I found myself still having questions. What does it mean to make laws? What implications come from making laws? How is the law enforced? Needless to say, I want to study Law to learn more about the subject.
