This is what the internal monologue of an Indian bride craves when she is traded against materialistic thing, fantasised favours or what we call it as dowry. Dowry in Indian context refers to the movable property, cash, gifts etc. that the bride’s family presents to the bridegroom, his family, or his parents as a condition of the wedding. Earlier it was a token of love and respect and help of the spouse so that she may set up her home but over time the idea of dowry has changed it has now became a social evil
