There is unethical keeping exotic animal because it can carry the disease to human. We already know that this exotic animal is cute, agile and unique to pet them. Instead, they will give us a variety of diseases it because exotic pets come from different ecosystem. Exotic animal can cause serious illness to human and many exotic animals are carriers of zoonosis diseases such as Herpes B, Monkey Pox, and Salmonellosis which can all be spread to human (The Danger of Keeping Exotic “Pets” 2003). As mentioned by (The Danger of Keeping Exotic Pets 2013) Herpes B is 80-90 percent of all macaque are infected with Herpes B-virus or Simian that is harmless to monkeys but often fatal in humans and Salmonellosis carried by exotic animal that is a public health illness and is estimated by the CDC that 93,000 salmonella cases are reported annually in the United States. According to Rettner, turtles, snakes and other reptile can be carriers of salmonella. As stated by Rettner (2011) children were attacked ill with salmonella brought by exotic animals through Born Free data stating eight cases involving salmonella.
