Between this age the brains developing with increase in reaction times and co-ordination .a child will experience a rapid growth, for a girl their puberty will be almost complete and at about 14 years of age their period will start. Boy’s puberty is from the age of 13-16 years.
Social and emotional and behaviour development
12-16years
Between 12-16 the change to a child’s body can upset their self-esteem and cause a child to be really shy and feel down. Children will want to spend more times with their friends rather than family they are easily influenced by their peers, they are also starting to explore boundaries with main cares. Children could start to become more anxious with pressures of school and work.
Moral development
12-16 years
By this age a child knows right from wrong and is very conscious of their actions they value rules but also negotiate them.
A child will want to be accepted by peers and may alter or change his values and morals that further that cause. They also begin to grasp the concept in what society expects of them.
