STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
Isn’t it fascinating that we can now fly without hassles? I’ve been fascinated with the way, technology affects people. Man’s romance with skies started back in 18th century when Hot Air Balloon was launched in France. And then the all-time show stopper, Aircrafts made their way. Crafts make me and many aerospace engineers awe inspired and galvanized by it. Their roaring at the times of take-off and landing though deafening to others, it was and will be merely a melody to my ears. I was flabbergasted about how a giant machine could soar so swiftly in parting air. This very thought lit the fire in me and made me curious about the science of flight which propelled me towards the profession of aerospace engineering.
Currently, the aerospace industry is at the forefront of innovation, pushing the boundaries of technological advancement at an exponential rate. The design and manufacture of craft that can defy the limits of our world, or go beyond the decree of nature, is arguably the pinnacle of engineering in the world today.
I have always sought to further improvise my knowledge and understanding of how and why things work; in order to challenge the restraints of both modern pioneering and myself. I endeavor to drive myself forward in the same sense and your university will be a stone to step into success. I am determined to sharpen and develop my ability for solving mathematical and physical problems; to solidify a sound understanding of fundamental principles. I am competitive with a real ambition to excel, contributing analytical skills, creativity and logic to problem solving.
In my undergraduate program, I learned the broad aspects of aerospace engineering, which started with generous portions of mathematics and physics and then the application of the same in aerospace specific topics. My undergraduate aeronautical engineering has provided me with an impregnable and comprehensive background in aerospace technology that has kept me abreast of the latest developments. The curriculum included all the basic courses like aerodynamics, gas dynamics, flight mechanics, aircraft structures, space dynamics, advanced propulsion systems, computational fluid dynamics to name a few.
Having learnt the basics strongly, I decided to test myself to know how much I really was into the subject. Thus for my final year undergraduate project I chose to fabricate and design a small scale gas turbine engine, which was capable of producing 80N thrust using. These in turn gave me a lot of exposure towards the practical variant of the aerospace industry and have had valuable experience with 3D modeling through CAD/CAM/CFD training, which was quite essential for an engineer.
Having been enlightened by my professors about the thorough coursework of the MS degree in Aerospace Engineering and the exposure I will get by meeting the avant-garde of the aerospace fraternity, I was not at all hesitant in choosing this program for pursuing my graduate studies. I am sure that this graduate program would leave me well prepared for any postgraduate endeavors, be it academic or corporate. An advanced degree will not only elevate my career but will also help me to stay on top of the aerospace industry. It is important to be a lifelong learner to succeed in the field of aerospace engineering, which is reaching greater heights every day. I believe that with my capacity for diligence, commendable logic and commitment to achieve my goals, I will be able to do very well in this program.
