Cultural diversity has become a very big problem in the hospitality industry because organizations find it difficult to manage employees from cultural background and they are not able to motivate them because their background are different from the managers.
When it comes to interpersonal majority of manages do not have the skills, like the ability to accept and recognize cultural differences between workers, they are not able to coordinate, communicate and cooperate with customers and employees. There is no positive outcome in the work place because they do not know how to manage diverse issues in restaurants industries. One of the causes again is that the treat employees and customers who are racial minority unfairly. Managers in restaurants do not interdict the diffusion of inappropriate occurrence. Managers have not reverse the existing damage that has been caused by workers, customers and managers. Workers not speaking up based on any negative form or discrimination or gender based on biased. Also, some study found out that black male and female hardly get hired as in place of higher positions but white male and female easily get higher positions. On the economy aspect, studies discovered that a significant wage disparity is additional evidence of racial and gender – based discrimination. For example, the average hourly pay for white male is 14.8 and the non- white is 11.63. discrimination still occur in restaurant industries because of all these acts. Violating anti discrimination laws is another cause too.
