The purpose of this thesis is to contribute to the emerging body of studies regarding the Brexit impact. The paper analyses the direct effect of Brexit over the EU civil society. This subject of study has been chosen due to its novelty and because it is itself a testing ground. The civil society participation in the Brexit debate and, later on, its reaction to the referendum outcome are directly linked to what civil society represents in the contemporary perioad. Brexit is an important issue for EU as it is for UK. Given the fact that the referendum vote influences EU citizens from all over the EU Member States, two main questions should be asked: what will happen with the status of EU citizens? What about their rights? the3million grass-root organization is an example of a civil society actor that plays a big role in the Brexit debate.
