TDA22-2.2 Describe the actions to take when children or young people are ill or injured
Answer:
First of all every nurseries should have qualified nurse or aider. The first person who comes across the injured child should start dealing with the situation immediately. Then the person should directly call to nurse/aider If the injury is an emergency you should remain calm and If needed call to nearest clinic. Either injury is major or minor parent/carer should be informed. For minor injury would not need to be send home. The injury should be recorded in an incident book. it should then be signed. The parent should also sign the recording. If a child shows signs of illness during nursery time the nursery should inform the parent enabling them to collect the child person as soon as possible. The child person would be cared for by staff until the parents arrived. The parent would ask to keep their child until they are fully recovered.
