3 days ago today I lost my friend and my inspiration. Gatsby was more than welcoming when I moved to the east coast this summer, in fact he was more inviting to me then anyone I had ever known. “There was music from Gatsby’s house through the summer nights. In his blue gardens men and girls came and went like moths among the whisperings” (39) his parties were what he was known for which was odd to me because “to my disappointment, he had little to say” (76)l. To me he represented more than just the american dream but also “infinite hope”… (2).
It is through determination and his childhood his life was shaped so perfectly for him. He had a schedule for himself written in a book. His dad showed me and it gave me a deeper understanding of what kind of man he was.

Baseball and sports …… 4:30-5:00
Practice elocution, poise, and how to attain it …… 5:00-6:00
Study needed inventions …… 7:00-9:00″
He was driven and

That’s why I can tell you that Gatsby was an amazing man. Why he believed you could turn back the clock! I think his exact words must have been “can’t repeat the past, why of course you can” (110) genuinely believing it. Anything was possible for gatsby.
He was in love. That’s why he had these extravagant parties. All he wanted was to “casually” run into someone who knew his first love, my cousin Daisy. He told me all about how he would impress Daisy when they met again. He planned it to the absolute tea . infact “a man in a raincoat dragging a lawn mower… said that Mr.Gatsby had sent him over to cut my grass” (83) just so everything was perfect when they finally met again.
He was loving and nothing but loving. “He hadn’t once ceased looked at Daisy, and I think he revalued everything in his house according to the measure of response it drew from her well loved eyes”. (91) His heart was full. His only intentions were to impress Daisy and win her back and in my mind that makes him a bigger man.
