In a media-saturated society, the importance of media narratives in shaping the social experience is indisputable and has been well researched. Mass media – newspapers, radio, TV, and more recently and most dominantly, the internet – manufacture and reproduce images, provide the frames which guide the understanding of social worlds and serve as tools of social control.
