We are here to study the reaction of Potassium Permanganate with Oxalic Acid in the presence of Sulfuric acid First of all; the Purpose of this lab experiment is to emphasize the importance of applying chemical kinetics to determine the rate law of this reaction by using the method of initial rates. Secondly, we will use the Arrhenius equation to determine the activation energyof this reaction. Finally, will examine the effect of the variation of temperatures and concentrations on the reaction rate. We studied that all along this semester that there are several factors such as; concentrations, temperature, catalyst that affects the speed of the reaction rate. Now, we have a chance to see how effectively each of these factors affects the outcome of the reaction throughout this experiment. Finally, by the means of the data that we had gathered from this experiment we will demonstrate that rates of reactions increase with increasing concentration, increasing temperature and as well as with the presence of a catalyst.
