A Little Small Town
During my childhood ages, I lived in a small city called Cottonwood Arizona. Cottonwood is one the biggest little towns with a small population in Arizona, it is surrounded on all cites mountains and has a lot of amazing landmarks. Not much is there but houses and an “old town” that people usually like to visit. My childhood memories take part in this city where I could partially remember since I was 5 years old of age. I was there from pre-school to the 3rd grade so not much of my childhood was there but it was basically one of my memorable moments of my life. It was my father’s decision to move out there in Cottonwood and I was in Yuma since I’ve been born. My mother wasn’t up for moving all the way out there in the middle of nowhere but it was my father’s call/decision.
Cottonwood is just outside of Sedona and Prescott. In Cottonwood, there’s not many things to do when visiting or living there. Such as, they don’t have attractions, stadiums or any malls. Just plain old and simple houses, some even rebuilds. Although there is a nice park that is called Riverfront so families spend a great time. Just arriving to that park, there’s a skatepark with many jumps and dips that provide much entertainment. There’s a little jungle gym that children can play on and a dirt with nets so friends and family can enjoy playing volleyball and many other sports. The park also has a field so people could enjoy playing baseball/softball and other kinds of sports.

If someone were to visit this place, I’d let them notice about the mountains. Secondly, I want them to notice about this one little small town called Jerome. If they take that highway going around the mountains to Cottonwood or on your way to Flagstaff, then they’ll come across a very small but enchanting town called Jerome. In Jerome, the first thing you notice is that it is on the verge of the mountains and I must say it is very skeptical that anyone could build houses/ businesses on the side of a mountain. There aren’t many things that you can do in Jerome but than just paying a visit for an amusing view of the mountains, visiting attractions, and a nice cite of Cottonwood. These aspects of this place are important because I would always remember back when I was a child passing through when leaving/ arriving to Cottonwood and having a nice breakfast at some fancy restaurant with my family in Jerome.
The first experience I can recall from Cottonwood was the weather. The weather is very cool, not so hot like Yuma but the weather would get so cool that sometimes when its winter, it snows. Not so much would we get snow but only rarely because it is two hours away from Flagstaff. We hardly ever get snow in this small town to the point where it doesn’t get that thick of snow but it was my first time seeing snow ever in my life. It was a wonderful feeling that I could remember in the back of my head. I could sense the place by looking out at the window and the skies were plain white and bright. As I step outside, it was colder than usual. My feet were so cold, to the point that I had a bad frostbite. Even if people think snow isn’t a huge deal, I will always remember this as being my first-time experiencing snow and will always be part of one of my many good memories.

Finally, I was not here in Cottonwood Arizona for that long but it will be part of childhood memory. When visiting there last two years ago, it has brought up a lot of my old memories. I visited my old school and payed a visit to one of my old friends. When I got to Cottonwood, the weather was sunny but cold at the same time and not that humid like Yuma. What makes this place so special to me is the wonderful memories I have made as I was a child. A sense of place is something that can be full of enjoyable parts of time of the memories in life. Making the memories can make a remarkable sense of place that no one could possibly ever imagine
