Investigate Events in Early Childhood Development
Since the 1800s education in the United States has really changed over the years.
Education was a rudimentary concept. A concept that only offered students basic arithmetic,
reading and writing skills. The purpose of this paper is to explain which of the four different
educational initiatives or events have the greatest impact on early childhood education for young
students through social, economic, educational trends and political events.
The Greatest Impact on Early Childhood Education
Best practices concerning education in the United States has dramatically changed down
through the years. Many factors about early child education and techniques has considerably
shifted as recent studies and discoveries presented the facts that validate one factor after another
(Daniels 201). Therefore, modeling best practices are identified by entering a classroom and
observing what is displayed and modeling for the students. When entering a classroom, the
observer will notice multiple anchor charts that are posted for students to review when needed,
students are interacting and engaging in hands-on activities while teachers are actively
monitoring and recording students’ progress. I will elaborate on four educational events from
The Early Childhood Education Timeline in the weekly readings. These events have had the
greatest impact on education and they are The Montessori Program, The NAEYC, NCLB and
The Friedrich Froebel Program.
The Montessori Event
Based upon the early childhood development timeline The Montessori is well known
from educating and stimulating young minds. The program is continuing to rank as the highest
leading program worldwide. The history of this program was created by Dr. Maria Montessori.
This program has been implement into classrooms across the United States for many years. It
has a significant impact on the early childhood education because it provides students with the
ability to become engaged in hands-on activities instead of receiving the whole group instruction.
The has the greatest impact on education. The Montessori program is the main reason the
appearance of education has reformed throughout the world. Montessori has impacted every
aspect of education by borrowing strategies and techniques from the Montessori program which
includes personalized education to recognize various learning styles.
The National Association for the Education of Young Children Event
The social and economic advantages of participating in an effective learning environment
has been beneficial and well-acknowledged down through the years. The NAEYC stands for
The National Association for the Education of Young Children. This event is a huge charitable
organization that best support young children in an early childhood education setting. The
purpose of the NAEYC is designed to successfully increase excellence and support for young
children in the educational setting. The NAEYC consist of at least ten different criteria’s that set
the foundation for stakeholders and families to participate in school choice programs. The
school is a program that allow students to attend any school of choices according to students
needs. The impact that the NAEYC have on early childhood education intentionally offer a
higher education that promotes best practice to everyone. The NAEYC support everyone who
contribute to show growth and improve in one of the many early childhood education
development centers (O’Brien 2012).
The Impact of the NO Child Left Behind Event
The No Child Left Behind is a program that were established and signed by President
Bush in 2002. The purpose of this program has impacted student’s success based on data. The
program will help students fulfill their educational goals. This means the NCLB influence the
school accountability and how well students are successful at taking state assessments. Every
stakeholder are responsibilities for equal share of student’s academics. The goal is to show
growth and achievements for all students who enter the classrooms. A key factor of the
NCLB program is the State of Texas need to put in place a standard for reading and math.
The Fredrich Froebel Event
Fredrich Froebel was an educator who had a vision that would stimulate young children
minds. Froebel believe that young children learn through play and the first influence of learning
starts at home with parents or on the playground. Froebel heart was in the right place for young
children because he had so many good things to say about the students. According to (Froebel
2011), he believes head providing children with a well-balance life the child has a greater
opportunity to be successful in the classroom. Fredrich Froebel made his mark in history. He
made and impact in the educational world because he is the father of kindergarten. In 1832, he
created his first school called school. The school was created and designed to serve young
children with the basic math, reading, and writing skill. Kindergarten have impacted all our
lives over to the years. It is an all-day program that have set the foundation for students to be
successful.
The Explanation
It is important for teachers to keep themselves updated with the different educational
trends. The world is moving at a fast paste and things are constantly changing by the minute. As
issues are changing it is important they teachers continue to attend professional development to
stay on top of things and keep up with current events. It is very important that teachers stay
effective by keeping themselves active in the system. I stay current on educational issues.
Supportive Examples
I mention that it is very important that teachers take the responsibility to keep themselves
Up on current educational trends. The world is changing rapidly and technology is getting better
by the minute. Teachers can attend district Professional Development. Professional
Development allow teacher to come to gather and participate in workshops to get updated
information and materials and resources. Another example of keeping up dater with current
trends are networking with networking other teachers, read daily school newsletters, and PLC.
