Homeostasis is the process in which controls all bodily functions throughout an individuals lifetime. It controls the temperature, water levels and glucose concentration. However, this process can be affected if a person does not exercise or eat for a long period of time. Therefore, if blood concentration levels increase or decrease drastically, this can result in the person having a hypo which can have further health complications.
Therefore, it is essential for blood sugar levels to be controlled which is achieved through homeostasis. In order for homeostasis to work efficiently it needs a receptor to detect variations from normal to negative feedback system where antagonistic processes work to redress variations when they occur.
