Death has a lot of names, but no matter what we call it, we are all conscious that fortunately or unfortunately we are all convicted to death. Death is a topic a lot of people struggle to realize it is unavoidable because they are scared of the thought of their life ending. Our entire existence is constrained by time, not even allowing us the right of determining how or when our mortal lives draw to a close. So if you look at older people, they have had the pleasure of living a long life and most of them seem ready to welcome death and the thought of a new beginning. but even then we’ve all been afraid of death at one point, but for good reason, for it helps us stay alive.
Emily Dickinson’s poem “Because I Could Not Stop for Death” is, obviously enough, about death. But rather than being sad about it, she wants the reader to view death as being an inevitable change, rather than an end to existence.
