Black History Month
There are still some discriminating and unjust behaviors toward African American; this is why we should study Black History Month. Black History Month is a time for African Americans to be proud of the accomplishments that were done by black leaders; one of the most important leaders was Martin Luther King Jr. We have a variety of holidays on Presidents? birthdays due to their great achievements in which students get the day off from school. There were many African Americans with achievements as great or greater as those Presidents, and that is why we have Black History Month. If we get rid of this monthly celebration, wouldn?t that be raising some questions about racism Black History Month should not be omitted from school because we learn many things from this month and it would be a mistake to get rid it since we can learn what happened to African Americans years ago.
We celebrate Martin Luther King Jr.?s birthday because of his great accomplishments with segregation. But what about Rosa Parks, Frederick Douglass, Harriet Tubman and Malcolm X Those were also courageous souls who fought for their beliefs. These important human beings
