Problem Solving Process, The Military Way
When faced with a difficult situation, people tend to look for the easiest way out, or at least to take the route more likely to get them out of harms way, in the quickest way possible. It is easy to understand why we sometimes decide to react in such a way, after all, it is only human to let our survival instincts take over. I myself am often tempted to look for that exit door and not look back. But like most people, I have learned the hard way that running away from problems does not make them go away, they will still linger and eventually catch up to you when you least expect them.
As a young man and at a tender age, I made a decision that would influence my life forever. Without much evaluation or listening to counseling from either friends or family, I decided to join the U.S. Army. Later on in life I look back at the options I had at that moment, and realize that it just might not have been the best decision I have ever made. But I do not regret for one minute having taken that
