Our National Attitude Adjustment
The World Trade Center and Pentagon bombings have re-defined many aspects of our lives as Americans. We now have a new mind frame about things we used to ignore and/or take for granted.
Our values have changed greatly with the recent tragedy. The way we value people, friends and family alike, has changed drastically. Knowing that thousands of normal, everyday people just like you and me, were at work one minute, and dead the next. We don? take people for granted as much any more. We realize we aren?t the ?invincible nation? we once thought we were.
The definition of a hero in America has changed as well. No longer is hero status bestowed upon musicians or athletes. Now the honor is given to actual heroes such as firefighters, police officers, and our armed services. They are real-life, deserving heroes who put their lives on the line to protect not just our country and population, but also what we stand for as a country.
Another aspect of our lives drastically effected by the events of September 11 is our safety, security, and vulnerability as a country. Terrorism is no
