The Corporate Mystic
The Corporate Mystic
The book that I chose to read is The Corporate Mystic by Gay Hendricks, Ph.D./ Kate Ludeman, Ph.D. I decided to read this book based on the phrase on the cover of the book that reads: A GUIDEBOOK FOR VISIONARIES WITH THEIR FEET ON THE GROUND. This caught my attention right off the back and led me to choose it. I am glad that I did because it is a very good book for college students that are getting ready to venture into the real world.
In this review I will point out some of the points that I feel are very useful, compare these points to classroom discussion, and relate the material to an aspect of my life.
The first thing that caught my attention was in the introduction and was the twelve qualities of the twenty-first-century leaders. These qualities are: absolute honesty, fairness, self-knowledge, a focus on contribution, nondogmatic spirituality, they get more done by doing less, they call forth the best of themselves and others, openness to change, a special sense of humor, keen distant vision and up-close focus, an unusual self-discipline, and balance.
All of these qualities are very important for
