The Conch is a symbol of the high hand of authority on the island. It was use to call meetings, it is a magical object to the boys. For the most part the boys respect the Conch. Piggy who had the idea to ?use this to call the others? first saw it. Which did work ?After Ralph blew the shell a third time a child appear?. The conch was very powerful it shows when Ralph ?? lifted the conch.? and said, ?Seems to me we ought to have a chief to diced things?. The conch actually wins Ralph the position as chief. He got pick because ?? his size, and attractive appearance; and most obscurely, yet most powerful there was
