Attracting and retaining workforce thus comes across as a huge challenge and puts serious pressure on the human resources to educate, integrate and retain a diverse working population. Managers also face equal pressure of understanding demographic , technological and societal shifts and are working extra hard to prepare themselves for such a change .
Ageing populations across the globe continue to pose challenges to businesses. Experienced employees are departing the workforce leaving positions of leadership void. Experienced workers in the US and industrialized countries work well past their retirement ages . The HR thus needs to establish incentive structures that keep less committed older workers in their workforce. HR needs to also anticipate and assess new skills and training that employees will require be it older ones or the less experienced ones particularly in the area of technology where seniors are more uncomfortable than the younger colleagues.
