Was It Worth It
It was a shadowy night with low cloud cover; it was perfect for the task at hand. My friends and I were ready and confident. My hands were trembling, my eyes were looking back and forth across my friends, and my smile was so big it almost hurt. The night would be invigorating.
I could read the faces of each of my friends; I knew what each person was thinking. Jamie?s tan face was blank and still, obviously running each detail and situation through her mind.
